£200,000 boost to help employment
Friday 26th March 2010Great Yarmouth is to benefit from a £200,000 job creation scheme aimed at creating more round-the-year employment.
The Government money is from its Strategy for Seaside Success to help coastal communities where much of the work is seasonal.
Yarmouths money is part of a £5m national fund to be distributed among 25 priority areas to create jobs, especially for the long term unemployed.
Nationally the strategy will see new licensing rules for houses of multiple occupation to help tackle problems about low quality housing and tougher measures on caravan site licenses being granted.
But as communities secretary John Denham unveiled his party's new policy he was accused of stealing Conservative plans to reinvigorate resorts which were launched three months ago.
