All ready to go Out There

Monday 15th August 2011

SeaChange Arts has put the finishing touches to the line-up for the Out There International Festival of Street Arts and Circus 2011, and with acts coming from over 10 different countries.

Acts confirmed for the festival include a satirical comedic clown from Germany, a hilarious acrobatic duo from Sweden, a trampolining gymnastic troupe from Belgium and a jet propelled thrill seeker from Austria.

Now in its 4th year, the Out There Festival is the largest free festival of its kind in the region. The majority of the festival programme will take place in Great Yarmouth’s St George’s Park on Saturday and Sunday September 17-18, with shows also taking place in the town’s marketplace and along the seafront.

SeaChange Arts will be continuing its relationship with the Continent by welcoming several companies from France, which will include the return of the brilliant Les 3 Points De Suspension who proved to be a smash hit at Out There in 2009. The company will be bringing their bouncy stilt show ‘Mr. Baryton’ and will perform alongside acts from much closer to home, including Hocus Pocus Theatre Company and Stuff & Things who are both based in the region.

The fantastic Plunge Boom will be making an appearance this year with their interactive ‘cooking’ show. They will be inviting the children in the audience to help them create a variety of disgusting dishes to feed to a hungry troll in order to keep him out of mischief.

Another act sure to get Great Yarmouth talking is the highly anticipated ‘Mario, Queen Of The Circus.’ Fresh from a four-year world tour with famous culture show ‘La Clique,’ SeaChange Arts are very proud to welcome Mario to Great Yarmouth for the first time.

The event will be returning to the festival format of Out There 2009 by ending the Saturday programme with an evening seafront spectacular entitled ‘Fest Noz’ on Great Yarmouth promenade.

A key element of the festival which is stronger than ever this year is the community participation programme. SeaChange will be offering local people the opportunity to get involved in several aspects, including the chance to appear in two of the shows.

SeaChange Arts are also looking for volunteers who would like to help out over the weekend. Contact 01493 846 500.
