Debenhams agrees to new store
Friday 3rd August 2007Debenhams has agreed a deal to open a store in Great Yarmouth - after a 22-year gap.
The announcement followed weeks of rumours that the new store was to be part of the Market gates complex, currently undergoing a £16m revamp.
Centre manager Nick Spencer said the move should encourage other big-name tenants to vie for a place in Market Gates, where New Look is expanding into bigger premises.
Rod Hadfield, for Debenhams, said they were excited to be bringing the store to Yarmouth where the geographical location and demographic profile were both attractive factors. Doors to the revamped complex are due to officially open in autumn 2008.
