Gold award for hospital in national audit

The James Paget University Hospitals is one of two NHS hospitals in East Anglia awarded the Gold category in the latest audit of theatre equipment.
 
The audit allocated marks to types of laparoscopic equipment (including cameras, disposable instruments, energy sources), maintenance, procurement and training facilities.

Mr Vivek Chitre said: “This is an excellent achievement and recognition for our staff and their commitment to remaining at the forefront of laparoscopic surgery. We have invested in the latest technology and we will continue to procure the equipment that is best for our patients. The Trust is also very proud of the training provided to our doctors and theatre staff and we are looking to expand this to trainees from across the region.”
