Now for the Sport Relief Golden MileTuesday 7th February 2012
The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile is back – and it’s coming to Great Yarmouth’s Golden Mile.
The town is set to host its first ever Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday March 25th , and needs local people to come together and show their support by entering now at www.sportrelief.com.
Setting off from the Merrivale Model Village, the run will be along Great Yarmouth’s Golden Mile. Entrants don’t have to be sporty to take part, but can choose to complete one, three or six miles knowing that all the money raised will help to change the lives of people living unimaginably tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some the world’s poorest countries.
The event is being organised by Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Tourism division.
Mark Thompson, Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for Culture and Leisure, said: “This is the first Sport Relief Mile in Great Yarmouth and it’s set to be a great event. There’s an option for residents of all fitness levels, whilst raising money for some great causes.”
