New beach-cleaning machinery
Beach cleaning equipment costing around £55,000 could be put to use in Lowestoft over the next few weeks. A tractor with a large rake attached to it will replace the manual litter pickers that Waveney District Council employees use to clear the beach. The 8ft rake has a conveyor belt, which picks up all types of rubbish, and also turns the sand over.
