Mattress Dumping Parrot Man Pays The Price
Alan Cooper has been fined by local magistrates for dumping an old mattress in Sandy Lane, Belton, after being filmed by a local residents' CCTV security system. Fines and costs came to £300 in one of the few successful local prosecutions for the borough-wide problem of fly-tipping.
Mr Cooper has been no stranger to controversy lately - a couple of weeks ago he escaped a charge of keeping noisy parrots after neighbours complained of loud squawking from his feathered pets.
