B&B couple's high hopes for future

A couple who are giving up a Great Yarmouth bed and breakfast business which featured on national television believe the town’s tourist industry still has a great future.

Elly Koopman and Rob Farrow have decided to call it a day at No 78 because of family commitments.

They bought the Marine Parade business in November 2006 and gave it a major makeover to create a sleek, contemporary-looking four-star accommodation which was featured on TV in The Hotel Inspector.

The couple aimed to add to the mix of accommodation in the town and thought the modern style would add to the home-from-home atmosphere at the B&B.

The TV episode was shown towards the end of 2007 and the cameras revisited earlier this year – keeping the couple in the spotlight.

Before handing over the keys of the business. Elly said that the tourist industry was fragile but if people stayed positive and believed they could make a difference then the town would boom.
