All's well at medical centre

Great Yarmouth’s new £2m health centre opened its doors for the first time this week - and received a warm welcome from old and new patients..

The Nelson Medical Centre on Pasteur Road replaces a portable building in Churchill Road.

As well as its five GPs and three practice nurses, the new site has a minor operation centre and rooms for district nurses carrying out wound and ulcer care.

The chairman of NHS Yarmouth and Waveney, David Edwards, said the project was a huge success, running both on time and to budget.

“We are delighted to have been able to provide the money for this fantastic new facility for patients and staff alike.”
